Two students from College of Chemical Sciences have won the best paper (oral presentation) awards at the International Conference on Sustainable Utilization of Tropical Plant Biomass: Opportunities for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Kerala (SUTPBM-2020) on the 14th and 15th of December 2020 organized by the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala, India.
Mr. M N D Erasyl who presented his undergraduate research on ‘Methylene Blue and Rhodamine B adsorption by Banana Biomass- A cost effective method in dye removal ’and the research was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Udaya K. Jayasundara, Senior Lecturer, College of Chemical Sciences.
Kulathunga Mudalige Kalani Gayanthika Perera also won the same award under the research topic ‘Synthesis Characterization, Photo Catalizing and Fluorescence Quenching Performance of Bio-Fabricated – [AgNPs] via Garcinia mangostana and Nephelium lappaceum Under the Sunlight Irradiation’ and her research was conducted by Dr. Gobika Thiripuranathar.
