Dr. C L de Silva Gold Medal Award | Institute of Chemistry

The prestigious award is for an outstanding research contribution in any branch of Chemical Sciences and/ or the use of such research for National Development during the last five (5) years in Sri Lanka.

Sandwich programs carried out particularly abroad do not qualify for the award. However less than 20% of the research findings from work which could not have been carried out in Sri Lanka due to non availability of facilities, may be considered. Credit will be given for the utilization of local raw materials, and where the contribution has already resulted in (i) a publication in a Citation Indexed Journal or (ii) Registering a Patent or (iii) where the contribution has already resulted in a positive impact in the development and innovation in the industry. The category (iii) requires the submission for documentary evidence.

This prestigious award will comprise a Gold Plated Medal with the photo of Dr C L de Silva at the centre and a cash award of Rs 25000/-

The recipient of the award shall be invited to deliver the C L de Silva Gold Medal Award Lecture at the Institute’s Annual Sessions.
