Post of Senior Accountant
The Institute of Chemistry Ceylon is the successor to the Chemical Society of Ceylon (founded in 1941) and was established in the year 1971 for the general advancement of the science and practice of chemistry. The Institute was incorporated by Act of Parliament No.15 of 1972. The Institute has been recognized as a degree awarding higher educational institute and accordingly three academic programmes are being conducted with nearly 400 annual student intake.
The Council of the Institute has decided to recruit an Accountant to lead the Accounts Division of the Institute. Accordingly, applications are invited for the above post from the citizens of Sri Lanka who possess the below mentioned qualifications and experience.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualification in ICASL/CIMA/ACCA. In addition, a Degree in the field of Finance or Accountancy is preferred.
AND - At least 5 years experience in a similar capacity. Candidates with exposure and experience in private higher educational institutes/private sector service industry preferred.
AND - Good knowledge in accounting packages preferably QB, sound IT knowledge and exposure to computerized accounting environment and experience in preparing financial accounts and budgets.
AND - Excellent supervisory, communication & interpersonal skills & high level of accuracy. Good written and oral communication skills in English.
General Conditions:
Age – Shall be above 35 years and not more than 65 years by the closing date of application.
Salary – Negotiable.
Appointment – The appointment is on contract for one year and further extension of the service shall depend on the performance.
Other terms – The employee will be a member of the Employees’ Provident Fund and Employees’ Trust Fund and contributions would be made to the said schemes by the Employer and Employee in accordance with the relevant Acts.
